Because Daylilies are so stinking easy to grow, you'll want one in every sunny planting bed! They produce blooms best in the full sun and only need well-drained soil to thrive. Moderate moisture once established and yearly fertilization, there’s not much more to it! In the harshest conditions, or even the average garden bed, all plants appreciate a 3-4 inch thick layer of mulch to insulate their roots, enrich the soil, and retain moisture.
After the bloom has finished, Deadhead the old flower stems as short as possible down to the ground for an occasional second round of blooms later in summer or fall.
