Magic Berry has a compact, spreading hybrid with an abundance of rose-pink fruit showing color in summer. These masses of pinkish-purple berries line each branch in autumn and feed songbirds and offer a unique show! Then the striking crop of Magic Berry fruits mature to deep claret in autumn, and may be retained well into winter. (The berries are not considered edible.)

The small dark green leaves show excellent mildew resistance and this compact, dense, thicket-forming deciduous shrub has ovate, dark-green leaves that turn dull yellow in autumn! Cold-hardy throughout USDA growing zones 4 to 7, these adaptable Snowberry bush variety is ideal workhorses for your sun to shaded landscape sites!

Planting and Application:

When left on the shrub for winter interest, the weight of the fruit causes the branch tips to arch slightly, giving it a graceful form. Growing 4-6 feet in height and width, Magic Berry is a wonderful backdrop or hedge plant that offers seasonal screening and garden accents!

Use as a specimen for the fall show, which maximizes this color when planted in groups. Spreading into thickets that are easy to control and contain, wildlife will love the habitat and nesting sites, while feasting on the fat berries! Great shrubs for planting on the banks of streams and water features, or on steep hillsides for erosion control!

The blooms feed pollinators galore! The dense clusters of dark red fruits that follow are located on the tips of each branch and look great in bouquets and floral arrangements.

  • Pink Bell-Shaped Spring Blooms & Fat Pink Summer/Fall Berries
  • Turn Red in Fall
  • Dense Thicket-Forming Shrub
  • Dark Green Leaves & Yellow Fall Color
  • Pollinator-Friendly, Bird-Friendly & Pretty Cut Flowers
  • Erosion Control, Specimens, Hedges & Backdrops

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Magic Berry loves full sun and needs well-drained soil. Preferring 3-4 inch thick layer of arborist bark chips top-dressed over the root system and given average to moist soil, but Snowberry bushes are quite adaptable. Blooming on new wood, it's recommended you prune in the very early spring before new growth emerges, or renewal prune every 3-5 years. By cutting out a third of the oldest, fattest, and least productive branches from the base of the plant, you keep your shrub blooming vigorously.

  • Full Sun & Partial Shade
  • Blooms On New Wood - Prune Early Spring When Dormant
  • Moderate Moisture Needs
  • Spring, Fall & Winter Interest
  • Appreciates Mulched Beds
  • Mildew Resistant Foliage

Pink berries that offer dramatic contrast to deep green foliage, the Magic Berry Snowberry bush will conjure its Coralberry bush cousins with its pink fall berry display! Order yours now at Nature Hills Nursery!
